This course marked the starting point of my transition toward a career in regenerative tourism. It allowed me to explore my academic interests in a direction I had not previously considered, specifically, the role of tourism policy in advancing regenerative models of tourism. The Course 701: Sustainable Tourism & Regenerative Travel sparked a deep and sustained interest in the field. As a result, I am now actively considering pursuing a master’s degree in Regenerative Tourism. My current role as Tour Coordinator at Nature Seekers, a community-based NGO dedicated to leatherback sea turtle conservation and ecotourism in Matura, Trinidad, has provided valuable opportunities to apply the concepts and skills gained from the course to real-world, community-led projects. This practical application has reinforced my commitment to regenerative tourism as a pathway for sustainable community development. I look forward to further developing my career in this field and continuing to explore how regenerative tourism can support conservation, community resilience, and inclusive economic growth. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to The George Washington University for delivering an inspiring and impactful course, and to the Caribbean Tourism Organization for the Sustainable Tourism Destination Management Scholarship that made this opportunity possible.
