I was inspired to pursue a degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management because my career goals and aspirations is to work within a Tourism Organization or Hotel within the Administrative section and this degree will teach me the theory concept that I will need to apply in my day to day work. This degree also gives you the opportunity to do a three (3) month internship at a Hospitality or Tourism Organization, which gives you an opportunity to see and experience what it is like to work within the tourism industry in Barbados. It will also enable me to achieve my main goal which is to open my own Bed and Breakfast Apartment Hotel. The different subject areas which are taught within the program are not only taught about tourism but also different subject areas that goes hand in hand with tourism.

Receiving a CTO Foundation study grant will enable me to complete and finish my last year of study at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. It will give me the opportunity to start looking for employment within the Tourism Industry with the BS Hospitality & Tourism degree been added to my resume.
