Scholarship
Master of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management
The University of the West Indies Mona, Jamaica
To date I am extremely grateful to CTO for this scholarship. I was able to complete my studies which would not have been possible without the aid of the CTO. Gaining a higher level of knowledge in the tourism and hospitality industry through this higher degree has also opened many doors for me. I was able to be employed in various industries but most importantly, I am employed in education as a lecturer of hospitality and tourism for many years, where I have the pleasure of passing on my knowledge to students. Additionally, this master’s degree has helped to propelled me into higher academic realms, as I received a distinction for the masters and was selected for the Fulbright Scholarship in 2009 to pursue my PhD in Hospitality and Tourism in the United States of America; which I have now completed.
I wholeheartedly thank the CTO Foundation for this superb opportunity that has honed my skills, knowledge, and competencies in the field, and for the opportunity to give back to individuals who want to travel the same path in this wonderful industry. Thank you CTO.
If I could walk with a sign on my chest with the words “I am a CTO Scholarship Recipient” I would do it without much hesitation. Words are not enough to express how proud I am to be an awardee of such a prestigious scholarship. From the moment I was selected my goal was to uphold the values of the foundation. Being a CTO recipient means that you are a cut above the rest and has exude the attitudes valued by the organization. The scholarship is competitive and to be selected is very commendable. I would implore individuals who wish to study to look at the CTO Foundation as an avenue to aid in career development and growth. Also, this scholarship gives the opportunity to be good corporate citizens and give back to one’s country and community. I am proud to be a CTO scholarship recipient. Great job CTO, continue to be a beacon of hope for Caribbean nations.
Currently, I manage the operations of the HEART Trust/NTA- Jamaica’s National Training Agency at the Falmouth campus. Areas of management include: Training, Assessment, HR, Accounts, and Administration.
