Scholarship

MSc in Air Transport Management

Cranfield University, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

Let me commence by expressing heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the CTO Foundation for their decision to award me a scholarship in 2010. This scholarship allowed me to pursue my dream of attending the prestigious Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, to pursue postgraduate studies in Air Transport Management. My year at Cranfield has allowed me to benefit from a greater understanding of the global air transport industry and all of its components. These components included Airline Marketing, Airline Operations, Aviation Safety Management, International Air Law and Airline Finance to name a few. This acquired knowledge will prove to be extremely beneficial to Barbados as it seeks to further strengthen its position as one of the leading aviation hubs in the Caribbean and to forge new air transport linkages with emerging source markets for tourism and trade around the world.

I was fortunate enough to be a member of Cranfield’s Department of Air Transport with students from 28 countries and to be the only one from the Caribbean. This has allowed me to make friendships which will last a lifetime, with individuals who share the same passions as I do from around the world. Finally, let me commend the CTO for its continuing quest to build and strengthen the human resource capacity of the Caribbean as it relates to tourism and the development of its relevant sectors.
