BA (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management

Anglia Ruskin University, UK

I decided to pursue a BA (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management in an effort to increase my educational, professional and personal development and to create better opportunities to be qualified and marketable for future promotions and employment in the hospitality and tourism industry. Anglia Ruskin University is not only an internationally renowned destination for students desiring to benefit from the best in the field of hospitality and tourism, but also the depth of the course coupled with the exposure one gets as an international student is second to none. Additionally, it provides me a cut-above the rest of my peers in knowledge of this critical sector.

Being a recipient of a CTO Foundation Study Grant will help me achieve my career goals in various capacities but most importantly, the completion of my bachelor’s degree. Upon completion, this will enhance my capabilities to actively participate in various regional and international trade shows, maximizing collaborative efforts between sectors in an effort to market Dominica and its tourism product, as there is a need for growth and development in this sector, both locally and across the region.

Additionally, I have always been intrigued by the idea of operating a tourism and hospitality centre, thereby creating opportunities for students of the Dominica State College through internship programs. This will enable and prepare them for the industry, as well as HRD programmes for persons already employed or want to be employed in the hospitality and tourism industry and could be professionally trained at international standards.
