Grant

BSc. in Hospitality & Tourism Management

University of the West Indies Cave Hill, Barbados

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has helped me tremendously in fulfilling my goals through the attainment of the study grant which I was awarded.

This study grant helped me to meet my financial obligations at the University of the West Indies, which enabled me to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and I graduated with Upper Class Honors. Without the study grant, I would not have been able to complete my degree due to the high cost of tuition.

I am eternally grateful to the Caribbean Tourism Organization for its assistance and I hope that it will be able to continue to offer this kind of assistance to current and future students pursuing courses of study in tourism. Tourism plays a very vital role in the growth of many Caribbean destination economies. For my country Barbados, it is the main source of foreign exchange and for this reason the industry is very important for further development of the country.

Tourism is very important and the funding given by the Caribbean Tourism Organization helps to ensure that there are future scholars and employees, who may not be able to meet all of their financial obligations, to be equipped with the skills and the funding necessary to keep the tourism industry lucrative and successful.
